Volunteer Opportunities

A core base of active volunteers helps William Way’s small staff plan and facilitate programs and services throughout the year. There are a few ways to volunteer depending on your availability, interests, and talents.

Staff and volunteers tabling an event during Pride month

One-time or as-needed

This volunteer opportunity is ideal for someone who may have limited time and a changing schedule. Volunteers assist the Center with tabling, open houses, tours, fundraisers, and other special events. Add your name to our Volunteer Mailing List to learn about opportunities as they arise.

Volunteers in our lending library take a weekly shift

Regular shifts

The Center relies on volunteers who show up for weekly shifts and monthly planning meetings. Not only is this a great way to invest a set amount of time with us, but you’ll meet new people who share similar interests. These opportunities come open periodically. Please reach out to express interest in volunteering with the Archives/Library, Arts Committee, Board Committees, and Peer Counseling.

Corporate and affinity group projects

Corporate Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), Pride Associations, and other affinity groups sometimes assist with improvement projects around the Center. This has included projects such as building cleanups, painting, gardening, and moving collections. If your group or organization would like to talk about possible projects, please fill out this Volunteer Groups form.
